Beberapa waktu lalu saya sempat jengkel gara-gara beberapa kali beli handphone China dan handphone yang semacamnya ( ada produksi Lokal tapi teknologi dan hardwarenya semacam produk HP China ). Okelah, walaupun bukan asli produk China tapi produksi Taiwan atau Korea kita asumsikan handphone China. Nah, handphone ini sudah dilengkapi dengan Kabel USB ( biasanya sekalian untuk kabel Charger ). Tapi begitu di pasang ke USB PC atau Laptop kita membutuhkan Driver yang tidak di sertakan saat pembelian . Capek dech…

Karena penasaran, saya hunting kesana kemari, sruduk sono sruduk sini berusaha mencari  driver agar bisa memanfaatkan fungsi Modem / Comm Port handphone saya. Akhirnya perjuangan saya tidak sia-sia dengan sebuah driver dari suatu handphone merk XZY. Driver modem ini bisa anda download di :

Saat kita pasang Kabel USB ke PC atau Laptop kita, maka di HP akan muncul pilihan seperti gambar di bawah ini :

Selanjutnya kita pilih “PORT COM” lalu kita akan diminta untuk meng-install Driver modem tersebut, arahkan ke folder penyimpanan driver modem yang telah anda download dan extract mengunakan Winrar. Setelah installasi Driver modem berhasil maka kita bisa cek di Device Manager seperti terlihat pada gambar dibawah ini :

Oke dech kalo begitu berarti kita sudah bisa mengunakan handphone kita sebagai modem, baik untuk koneksi internet maupun untuk SMS Gateway yang akan saya bahas pada artikel berikutnya…
